Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cut the EL wire if it's too long?
Yes, absolutely! You can cut the wire to your desired length. Just be sure to cap or tape the cut end to protect it, and the rest of the wire will continue to function perfectly.
Why does the USB controller make a faint buzzing sound?
This is completely normal and safe. EL wire requires a high-frequency current to glow, and the tiny inverter inside the USB controller generates a slight GGm while working. It is generally unnoticeable when the engine is running or music is playing.
Do I need special tools or adhesive to install this in my car?
No tools or adhesives are required for standard dashboard installations. The wire features a flat lip that is designed to be wedged tightly into the existing gaps and seams of your interior panels.
